HAVING BOYFRIEND OR GIRLFRIEND HELPS STUDENTS LEARNING?

            Some students believe that having boyfriend or girlfriend would help students learning. It encourages them to study better. On the other hand, some would think of the opposite. Those are questioning such influence of having a lover. Is it always true that if you have a lover, you will get a better achievement in your study? Don’t you ever think that having a special relationship with someone means having an additional responsibility? There are two main reasons, at least, why having boyfriend or girlfriend doesn’t help students learning, namely individual concepts and religious concepts.

The first reason is individual concepts. Those mean having a lover is related to individual person who makes the relationship. Students might want to weight up the pros and cons before making a final decision. Those are important for them because having a lover might lead to a big problem especially when they do that while they are a student. They might be better or worse because of it. Some examples which students might be faced are too many do’s and don’ts from their partner, there is a lot of thing to do because school time is not the best time to make a lover, and it is not an easy task to build a bridge for two different backgrounds, etc.

The second reason is religious concepts. In almost all religious especially Islam, people is not permitted having boyfriend or girlfriend when they are student. If they do, their religion will punish them. It is what God say in the Holy Qur’an. Here might be happen different association with God’s instructions. Some people interpret those as a big problem, because they take it for granted. Some would think of differently. They think that students didn’t allow having a lover because they are still young. They didn’t think and know about the consequence. Thus, when students are permitted having a lover they will be free and of course, it doesn’t help their learning anymore. Moreover it will encourage them to the wrong way because they are not obeying their religion.    

There are many reasons why having boyfriend or girlfriend doesn’t help students learning. Those reasons above are the main reasons. Students might think about the advantage and the disadvantages before making a relationship. They also need to think about the consequences that can occur after having a lover, because it is not in line with religion.
